Probably no one thinks much about windows. You open them, you close them. You work by them, you sleep by them. They're merely part of the building design, just like doors and walls. But without windows, a building is a closed-in unit. There is no natural light, no avenue to know what's going on outside those walls, no way to know if it's night or day. Windows are the soul of the structure. Without windows, you might as well be blind to the world beyond your office and your home. With windows, you can see beyond where you are at that very moment in time.
